For Mike Meadows, Enough Was Enough
“I had just had it. Enough is enough,” Mike Meadows, of Harrison Township, explains in frustration. Mike, a retired chemical operator for General Electric, had both shoulders replaced within a year at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Once he had such success with his left shoulder replacement in April
2011, scheduling his second surgery was a no-brainer. “After I made the
decision to do the right shoulder, the left shoulder, a year later was
just, ‘Yeah, Let’s go!’”
Robert Rolf MD, an orthopedic surgeon from Beacon Orthopaedics who co-championed the shoulder replacement program at Good Samaritan Hospital Orthopedic Center of Excellence,
performed both joint replacement surgeries. “Immediately upon coming
out of recovery . . . I knew he had fixed it, because with my right one
the year before, I had such success with that,” Mike points out.
Initially, Mike made an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon; however, the doctor he met with only specialized in knee replacements. “There was only one guy he would recommend for shoulder surgery: Dr. Rolf.” Read More >>
