Bridge to D1 Program
What is the Bridge Program?
The Bridge Program is geared towards restoring the function of athletes who are returning to sport after an injury. The Bridge Program is provided in partnership with D1 Sports Training and Beacon Orthopaedics, and training is provided by knowledgeable sports medicine professionals who understand the needs of athletes. The Bridge evaluates an athlete’s functional movement patterns as well as their level of strength and endurance and uses this information to tailor an exercise plan that will increase their speed, agility, and endurance. At D1, these athletes have access to a 50-yard turf field, weights, cardio equipment and a variety of training tools. The combination of knowledgeable staff and state of the art equipment allow an athlete’s movement patterns to be trained in a safe and controlled athletic environment allowing a seamless return to athletic activity with their team when the time is right.
Who will benefit from the Bridge?
This unique program is designed for those individuals who have suffered an injury and who have completed formal rehabilitation for that injury. After clearance from a qualified sports medicine professional, this unique, functional training program can bridge the gap from the rehabilitation clinic to the playing field.
