The full-length documentary of Tejay Antone’s potentially career-ending injury and his journey back is coming soon.
After suffering a season-ending injury, Tejay Antone(opens in new tab) took the podium in front of the Cincinnati media(opens in new tab) and said,
“I think I have an opportunity to be the person that makes it back from three [surgeries]. I know I have the perseverance. I know I have the work ethic. And with the team of medical experts that are around, why not me?”
Tejay spoke privately with Dr. Timothy Kremchek(opens in new tab) and C. Trent Rosecrans(opens in new tab) of The Athletic/New York Times and made the decision to make this journey public. “I think I have an opportunity and responsibility to do this not only for myself, but other kids out there dealing with this.”
Update: Tejay has recovered from his third surgery and is back on the mound with the Cincinnati Reds, living proof of the perseverance he spoke about.
